Hey Jesse, these are great. Thanks for doing all of these different iterations, but I think you may be overcomplicating the BG a tiny bit. Make it work in monotone first, before you add in a variation of colors. Take a look again at the living room BG and try to match that style.
Also, if you haven't already done so - do a quick google image search of UPA animation backgrounds and you will see the simplicity we are going for.
